#geek - #UCLA Internet (circa 1995)

UCLA Internet (circa 1995)

This is the text describing Bruin OnLine, which basically consisted of an Ethernet card, drivers, and the TCP/IP stack (for Windows 3.11 at least). I purchased the box from the store across from Sproul Hall during my second day as a freshman on campus. I bought the Internet for $29.

I spent quite a bit of time on newsgroups and honestly didn't really spend much time on the 'web' because my 486 didn't run Netscape very well. Surfing the Web was reserved for the workstations in the libraries.
